Just last week, Kylie Jenner marked the arrival of her 21st year with a newly platinum ponytail styled to swing interminably between shoulder blades. And though her polished, down-to-there hair was ideal for a standout celebration, Jenner is making the peroxide shift a more salient one with an abbreviated—and more sophisticated—interpretation of the power ponytail.

The youngest of the Kardashian was spotted yesterday in Calabasas with her blanched chop combed into a neat knot secured at the nape of the neck. Center-parted and low-slung, everything but the updo's no-flyaways-welcome texture offered a departure from Jenner's blonde debut, the updated take slightly reminiscent of older sister Kim's understated, athleisure-adjacent tie-backs. Whether or not blondes have more fun remains to be seen, but Jenner's out to remind onlookers that blonde-beauty-mogul-billionaires definitely do—and, just in time for her birthday, her styling is all grown up.
