If NYFW Fall 2018 proved anything, it's that simple doesn't need to be boring. Bold, dramatic hair is dominant again this season and the 80's don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Runways were peppered with everything from bright, gravity-defying wigs to polished, to slicked-back buns and tousled locs and more. Ahead, see all the best hair trends we spotted backstage at the Spring 2019 runway shows.

Monse
The vibe: No-fuss
Get the look: Amika stylist Pasquale Ferrante sent the models down the runway with loose waves or knotted ponytails, the latter inspired by the rope theme used throughout Monse's SS19 collection.

Jonathan Simkhai
The vibe: 60's chic look
Get the look: Odlie Gilbert takes a trip back to the 60s for Jonathan Simkhai's show by loosely braiding hair to achieve bohemian-style curls and then dropping loose braids throughout the hair. He added wooden beads for a nostalgic touch.

Milly by Michelle Smith
The vibe: Effortless
Get the look: After shampooing and washing the hair, Odile Gilbert used a curling iron to give hair "a natural texture," then separated curls with her fingertips for the perfect "I woke up like this" look.

Nicole Miller
The vibe: The New York Girl
Get the look: They say New York is the city that never sleeps, so Kien Hoang gave models a more polished version of the "I-woke-up-like-this" hairstyle by creating "unstructured waves and curls."

Hellessy
The vibe: Half-wet waves
Get the look: TRESemmé Global Stylist Justine Marjan created the perfect "wet waves" by slitting hair into sections in order to drop loose braids all over. Then, Marjan spray each braid with holding spray and gently flat-ironed it to create a textured, beach-ready look.

Noon by Noor
The vibe: In the desert
Get the look: Keeping in line with Noon by Noor's breezy, summer-themed collection, hairstylist Paolo Soffiatti kept it simple by blow-drying the hair and adding a few waves throughout to create an easy, breezy hairdo.
